The story behind the innovation
As a medical photographer and videographer, I was frustrated with the cumbersome, expensive, and difficult-to-maneuver large jibs traditionally used for surgical videography. I wanted a cost-effective and user-friendly solution that could be set up in minutes. The result was the creation of OpCam, which addresses the issues of cost, size, and maneuverability without compromising on quality.
OpCam leverages the excellent quality footage from the GoPro sensor, making it a versatile tool for both medical photographers and clinicians. Over time, I realized that surgeons and clinicians could easily use it themselves, eliminating the need for me to be present for every operation that needed filming. This simplicity inspired me to retail the kit I had developed over the past five years.
OpCam is a carefully curated kit combining the best components for surgical recording. It’s designed to be advanced enough for medical photographers and straightforward enough for clinicians, requiring little technical knowledge to set up.
